The second annual Harvest Halloween Food Drive was another success! Thanks to the generous donations from the Eagle Crescent, Glacier Crescent and Carnarvon Drive neighbourhoods, we raised over 380 pounds of food.
We’d like to thank OurTown Events for organizing the food drive and building the Pumpkin Door which was set up on Eagle Crescent this year. We saw lots of smiles from the kids who came by to knock on the door and get an extra trick-or-treat.
We know it’s been a tough year for those in the fishery and forestry industries and would like to let all families know that our food bank is open to anyone who is need of food. If you’re in Port Hardy, just bring your ID to the food bank any Friday except the last Friday of the month between 12pm and 1pm to pick up your box of food once a month. Anyone in Alert Bay, Port Alice, Port McNeill, Sointula or Woss can visit harvestfoodbank.org for information on signing up for a food box.
